Spencer, IA (KICD)– As we reported last week, Spencer Hospital has named a new President and CEO to take over for Bill Bumgarner when he retires later this year.

The new leader will be long time Spencer Hospital employee Brenda Tiefenthaler who has worked in number of different capacities in healthcare during her career despite not exactly knowing how the interest really started.

Tiefenthaler is expecting the transition to be fairly smooth being that she will be able to work with Bumgarner initially while also having plenty of help from other members of the staff.

The change in leadership at Spencer Hospital is planned for early November.
