Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Spencer and Spirit Lake collided on Friday night in the Fieldhouse for a pair of Varsity Lakes Conference Matchups. Here are the highlights from those two games.

The evening started with the Girls contest featuring a couple teams off to strong starts to the season.

Spencer was led in the 59-37 loss by Calista Frankenstein’s 12 as the Tigers drop to 6-4 on the season and 0-2 in the Lakes Conference.

Spirit Lake got 18 from Freshman Albany Reinke in the win. They improve to 7-2 this season and 3-0 in the Lakes Conference.

The Boys game followed with an instant classic.

Spirit Lake got 25 points from Bennett Stecker and 22 From Wesley Walz. The two combined for 20 points at the free throw line on the night. Spirit Lake falls to 0-9 this season and 0-3 in the Lakes Conference

Foster Roos had 29 including his game winning 3. Spencer is now 2-7 and 1-1 in the Lakes.
