Alta, IA (KICD) — The new superintendent at Alta Aurelia says they’re discussing a realignment of grades.
There are currently Kindergarten through 3rd grade buildings in both towns, four through 8 in Aurelia, and high school in Alta.
Denny Olhausen says that’s the first question that needs to be answered before the district embarks on any building projects.
Olhausen tells KICD News one benefit might be consolidating elementary grades so teachers can collaborate, but there are unlimited possibilities.
A survey from teachers will be reviewed at the next Alta-Aurelia school board meeting and might be followed by a community survey.
