Spencer, IA (KICD) — It’s been a long time since the first Community Theatre production in Spencer in 1960. The board of directors has appointed two co-chairs of a transition committee to examine how Spencer Community Theatre can thrive in the future. One of them is retired Executive Director Connie Goeken.

In recent months several staff members – including the executive director – left the organization. Goeken says participating is UP for the summer children and teen programs, and the Costume Shop remains busy. The organization will use a variety of venues to gather information including a major gala in October. And they do plan to stage productions in 2024.
