SHELDON, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A routine traffic stop on Highway 60 led to drug charges for a Spirit Lake woman Monday morning.

According to an Iowa State Patrol incident report, the stop happened around 10:30 a.m. on February 2 when deputies pulled over a 2020 Jeep Compass for speeding on the Highway 60 expressway near 360th Street, about two miles southwest of Sheldon.

Troopers identified the driver as 53-year-old Sarah Elaine Page of Sheldon. Authorities say a vape and a bag of THC gummies were spotted in plain view inside the vehicle.

Page was arrested and charged with first-offense possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and use of an electronic communication device while driving.

She was booked into the Sioux County Jail and later released after posting a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
