Spirit Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Spirit Lake school board has found their new Middle School Principal already on staff. As we previously reported, Terry Bruinsma is leaving at the end of the school year when he becomes the superintendent for West Lyon.

The vacant job will be filled by Brady Dicks, who has been serving as the Assistant Principal for both the Spirit Lake Elementary and Middle School since 2023.
Dicks has degrees from Buena Vista University and Northwestern College and taught business at South Central Calhoun for two years and in Spirit Lake for three years.

 

He’s graduated from Newell Fonda in 2015 where his father – JEFF Dicks – was Superintendent.

Dicks tells KICD News he’s excited to step into the new role, and will also continue to serve as the head boys basketball coach in Spirit Lake.
