Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Clay County Fair is a favorite place for many people to spend nine days in the late summer and early Fall, but it can also perhaps be a bit too much for some and a new spot on the fairgrounds is available this year to help with that.

It is called a sensory room that Jade Zimmerman from Spencer Hosptial’s Shared Governance Image Council says can be used for those that just need to take a break.

Emily Grange tells us there are a number of different aspects to the room for its first year that can be adjusted in the future.

The new sensory room again is located in the brick building just east of the Depot building, formerly the fair office, and will be available for use all nine days of the fair.
