Spencer, IA (KICD)– We may only be a little over halfway through September, but Spencer Hospital is already putting plans together for its annual breast cancer walk.
Vice President of Marketing Susan Zulk says, the walk which is now in its 19th year, began as another way to bring awareness considering how common of a diagnosis breast cancer is.
While the walk is for breast cancer awareness, hospital staff and the planning team often refer to it as the Pink Walk because of added visibility during the event.
This year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Walk for Spencer Hospital will be Sunday, October 1st with registration at 3:30 and a program at four o’clock. It is entirely free with donations welcome.
