Funeral services for Matthew “Matt” Helmers, age 54, of Melvin, Iowa, will be held on Friday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Melvin. Matt passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Baker Township Cemetery near Melvin. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials may be directed to the family to be used for a Melvin City park bench in Matt’s honor. Sanborn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
