Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Soccer team hosted Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji in Girls Soccer on Tuesday for NWISL play.

Spencer picked up a couple of goals in the first 11 minutes with Ingrid Gustafson scoring in the 8th minute and Halle Sears finding the net in the 11th minute to make it 2-0.

Maddy McWhirter hit a Free Kick in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0 and Addyson Faris got her first goal in a Tiger uniform in the 23rd to extend the Tiger lead to 4.

Spencer had a flurry of Goals in the final 10 minutes of the first half.  Avery Metcalf and Ingrid Gustafson as well as 2 goals from Freshman Minnie Matthiesen put the Tigers up 8-0 going into the half.

SLPO was able to get some offense going in the early minutes of the second half, but Spencer held them out of the goal, and Avery McEntee broke through with her first on the day in the 48th minute.

Ingrid Gustafson picked up her 3rd goal on the day and 5th of the season in the 51st minute to give Spencer the 10-0 win via mercy rule.

Spencer improves to 4-0-0 on the year and 2-0-0 in the Northwest Iowa Soccer League.  The Tigers will be back in action on April 20th on the road against Sioux Center.

Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji falls to 0-3-0 this year and now 0-1-0 in the NWISL.  SLPO will also face Sioux Center next on April 16th.
