Sioux Center, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Sibley-Ocheyedan competed at the Sioux Center Invite on Thursday at Open Space Park.
The General Boys took 2nd in the 800m Sprint Medley Relay with a team of Heilman, Marco, Marco, and Vos clocking 1:37.14.
In the Boys 4x800m Relay, Sibley-Ocheyedan’s team of Sayler, Ver STeeg, Bevers, and Vos were 3rd at 9:54.87.
For the Boys 1600m Distance Medley Relay, Heilman, Kauffman, Sayler, and Kleinwolterink combined for a time of 3:54.93 to take 3rd for the Generals.
It was a blazing 4x200m Relay as both the 1st and 2nd place teams overtook meet records. Sibley-Ocheyedan went 2nd with a time of 1:32.68, made up of a team of Marco, Kreykes, Byers, and Marco.
Luke Heilman gave the Generals their first individual top 3 finisher in the Boys 110m Hurdles, taking 2nd with a time of 15.08.
Sibley-Ocheyedan showed out well in the Girls 400m Hurdles with Hailey Gacke taking 2nd with a time of 1:11.25, overtaking the meet record behind the 33rd best time in Iowa, Shyanne Struckman of Central Lyon in 1st at 1:08.82. Mya Pohlen took 3rd for the Generals at 1:14.71.
Taking 3rd in the Boys 400m Hurdles was Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Eric Kleinwolterink at 1:02.29.
The Generals’ team of Kreykes, Vos, Byers, and Marco set the meet record with 3:24.87 in the Boys 4x400m Relay.
Gage Greenfield of Sibley-Ocheyedan was the winner in the Boys Shot Put with a time of 51’7”.
Kleinwolterink was 2nd in the Boys High Jump with a leap of 5’10”.
In the Girls team scores, Sioux Center won with 145 points, MOC-Floyd Valley was 2nd with 141 and Central Lyon took 3rd with 75. Sibley-Ocheyedan was 7th.
For the Boys team scores, MOC-Floyd Valley won with 156 points, Sioux Center was 2nd with 124, and Central Lyon finished 3rd at 88. Sibley-Ocheyedan was 4th.
