Spencer, IA (KICD)– We are at the halfway point of October which is also noted as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
JaMae Dau, a registered mammographer and certified breast patient navigator with Spencer Hospital, joined us for Saturday’s Weekly Health Update to share some statistics surrounding breast cancer containing numbers that many may find to higher than expected.
Many of the risks for breast cancer come naturally with time, but maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active and participating in recommended screenings can help bring some of the chances down.
Any concerns about breast cancer can be directed to an individual’s primary physician. Preventative care can also be scheduled by calling 264-6181.
