Aurelia, IA (KICD) — Buena Vista County authorities have arrested an Alta man for that break-in at the Aurelia Casey’s last month. As we previosuly reported, a figure was seen on store surveillance breaking the front door and steeling a thousand dollars’ worth of vaping material.
Police Chief Brian Flikeid  tells KICD News after local news media reported the crime his office received numerous tips that led them to 18-year-old Anthony Esquivel of Alta. A search warrant was executed at his residence Sunday and items related to the burglary were reportedly found inside.
Esquivel has been charged with 3rd degree burglary, 3rd degree theft, 3 degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglar tools.
The Buena Vista and Cherokee County Sheriff’s departments assisted in the investigation, and the chief thanks the public for their calls.
