Two Iowans have completed a 90-day flight around the world in a single engine airplane. Peter Teahen of Robbins says he and John Ockenfels of Sherville flew 25 thousand miles and stopped in twenty-one different countries.
The two made the journey to raise money and awareness for the International Rotary Club’s Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
The two shared their personal story with Spencer Rotarians on Monday.
During the trip they encountered mechanical difficulties and Ockenfels was hospitalized three times. To date the pair has raised over 1.5 million dollars for the effort.
