Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– Police in Spirit Lake are investigating a fatal crash from Friday morning.

An officer with the Okoboji Police Department originally located a vehicle in the ditch along Highway 71 in the area of the Okoboji Barn shortly before 5:30.

Additional units then found the body of the driver, identified as 52-year-old Casey Vietor of Spirit Lake, a short distance away.

No additional details have been released other than law enforcement believing Vietor likely died from injuries sustained in the single vehicle crash.
