Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)– The opening of the new Palo Alto County Public Safety Building and jail is being pushed back a bit because of a delay in receiving a key part.
John Hansen with Midwest Construction tells KICD News the piece in question was originally ordered back in May.
Hansen says this setback is not stopping crews on the site from continuing to plug along so the rest of the structure can be ready to go when the transfer switch arrives.
The original plan was to have the new building fully operational sometime in December, but the new target date for occupancy is now set for the middle of January with an open house being planned prior to the official opening.
