Spencer, IA (KICD)– A Downtown Spencer business will be getting some new life after being awarded a state grant.

Madeline Iles owns Posh Salon in the 400 block of Grand Avenue. She tells KICD News the Main Street Challenge Grant through the Iowa Economic Development Authority will help transform the exterior of her business.

Posh Salon was awarded 42 thousand dollars for the project and is considered a one to one grant, meaning Iles must at least match that amount as part of the project that she hopes can be started in the Spring.
