Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– Area Boards of Supervisors spent some time during their regular meetings on Tuesday to make the results of last week’s City and School Election official.
While going through the first tier of results in Dickinson County, Elections Clerk Jordan Moyer noted there are a series of conditions a write-in vote must hit in order to be considered a resolved candidate.
During Tuesday’s canvass it was noted that there were at least of couple of ballots, like one involving the Hartley Melvin Sanborn School District, that had a zero percent turn-out which Moyer says happens because of how district lines are drawn.
In all elections, results are considered to be unofficial until the respective Board of Supervisors completes a canvass to verify the initial results.
