Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors is being asked to remain vigilant on carbon dioxide pipelines .

Dennis Jackson is a landowner that would be effected by the proposed route by Summit Carbon Solutions. He went to the board on Tuesday to ask for a moratorium similar to what was passed in by another board last month be put in place until federal safety standards can be updated.

The information presented comes after Summit Carbon Solutions concluded a series of hearings that spanned multiple months with the Iowa Utilities Board as part of the permit process. A ruling on that matter is expected sometime early next year.
