Spencer, IA (KICD)– The City of Spencer will NOT have a Finance Director in place to prepare next year’s spending plan.

City Manager Dan Gifford says NONE of the finalists for the position were hired, so the city is essentially going to have to punt.

Three finalists were interviewed in round one, with two called back for a second round. Gifford did not disclose whether the job was offered to any of the candidates.

The job has been open for several months after Brian Weuve left Spencer over the summer to take a similar job with the City of Pella.
