Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Spencer City Council is full once again as of a couple of weeks ago when the newest elected official took his Oath of Office.

David Lyons is a native of Mississippi that moved to Spencer a handful of years ago working for a local non-profit that helps build community awareness and response to the needs of area residents. He tells KICD News his experience in working with others will likely be a big help in the transition to local office.

Lyons does not want to look to deep into big goals of his own as he starts this new chapter, but would like to see some continued work on housing and growth.

Lyons was elected to office last month to fill a vacancy on the council created by the retirement of Bill Orrison.
