Spencer, IA (KICD)– The Clay County Board of Supervisors had a brief discussion with members of the Compensation Board on Tuesday to help get the process of determining potential raises for elected employees started.
The main point of the conversation was to make sure all parties are on the same page when making recommendations with Supervisor Barry Anderson noting there are rules for what can be done with suggested increases.
Anderson also reminded the Compensation Board that whatever direction the Supervisors go from the initial recommendation must be done across the board.
The only category so-to-speak that the Supervisors can decide to take a reduction on that does not affect employees is to their own compensation. The numbers decided through this annual process will take effect with the new budget in July of next year.
