Spencer, IA (KICD)– At least once every five years, local public health departments are asked to assess the health of their counties in order to learn about the area’s strengths and weaknesses.
Clay County Public Health Director Colette Rossiter tells us a survey conducted earlier this year that looks mostly at “social determinants of health” helped the team identify the top ten needs in the community.
From there Angel Smith says a group of stakeholders prioritized these findings to come up with a Health Improvement Plan for Clay County.
The public is encouraged to take a look at the health assessment and improvement plan which can be found in the Clay County Public Health section of spencerhospital.org.
