Spencer, IA (KICD)– A long time Spencer Hospital Trustee has stepped away from his seat.

Gary Van Hofwegan served on the board for more than two decades before submitting his letter of resignation last week that was then accepted during the regular board meeting.

Serving out the remaining two years of Van Hofwegan’s term will be Larry Harden who is not exactly a new face to the board.

Harden took his Oath of Office last Thursday alongside Julie Christensen, Bruce Nystrom and Steve Lensing who were all reelected to their seats in November.

Also resigning from their positions on the Advisory Board is Neal Conover who served in that capacity for thirty years and John Vander Haag who steps away after three years of service. The search to fill the open seats is underway with appointments possible in January.
