Sioux City, IA (KICD)– A Spencer man is going to federal prison on a child pornography conviction.

42-year-old Leighton Jones pled guilty in August to one count of possessing the illegal images with evidence showing he had more than 15-hundred images copied across six electronic devices throughout a five year span between January 2012 and December 2017.

Jones was given 51 months behind bars on Thursday and also ordered to pay 14 thousand dollars in restitution to several victims. Following his time in prison, He will also be required to serve an additional five years on supervised release.

Jones is currently being held in the custody of the United States Marshals pending transfer to a federal facility.
