Algona, IA (KICD)– The trial date for the man accused of killing an Algona police officer last Fall has been pushed back yet again.
43-year-old Kyle Ricke was arrested in Minnesota in September and charged with first degree murder after he fled following the shooting of Officer Kevin Cram during a warrant service.
Ricke had originally requested a speedy trial and was set to go in front of jury in December, but he later waived his right and had the trial rescheduled for May.
Online court records now show an order for continuance was filed by Judge Nancy Whittenburg last Friday pushing the trial back another month and a half to late June.
