Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD)– Two people were hurt in a multiple vehicle crash involving a semi Saturday morning in Northern Buena Vista County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash was happened shortly before six o’clock on Highway 71 just south of the Clay County line when a northbound SUV driven by 19-year-old Jospeh Dax of Storm Lake crossed the center line entering the path of a southbound semi operated by 27-year-old Hunter Coatney of Pierre City, Missouri.

Both drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries with the report indicating Dax was not wearing a seatbelt at the crash.
