Des Moines, IA (KICD)– Governor Kim Reynolds is urging lawmakers to advance her plan to overhaul the state’s Area Education Agencies.

Okoboji Superintendent Todd Abrahamson says he supports giving school districts the federal, state and property tax money that is currently being forwarded to the AEAs, so his district can hire its own staff.

Groups opposed to the bill say will create winners and losers with rural schools likely being affected more than districts in a more urban community.
