Spencer, IA (KICD)– New numbers have been released for tourism in Clay County for 2023.
Tourism Coordinator Olivia Baxter says there were roughly 140 thousand people visiting parts of Clay County last year with a bit of a pattern being seen for length of stay.
The visitors also appear to have a big impact on the local economy based on the most recent data from 2022.
The Spencer Chamber of Commerce and Clay County Tourism is gearing up for what should be a big year in 2024 which will include as many at 15 to 20 thousand visitors coming to the local communities in June for the Red Power Roundup.
