Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — The Storm Lake Police Department has released statics for 2023. Chief Chris Cole says there were 271 thefts, burglaries, and robberies; 59 assaults; 13 sexual assaults, and 1 attempted homicide.

The Chief says he’s gathering stats constantly and makes adjustments as needed.

 

Cole tells KICD News Community outreach is a priority in the Buena Vista County Seat, with many bi-lingual officers and others learning second languages.

 

There were 30 thousand 268 requests for help last year – a ten year low.
