Des Moines IA, (KICD)— The widow a Des Mione firefighter that died of cancer is urging legislators to change Iowa law.

Emily Broderick, formerly of Cherokee lost her husband Mike Broderick to liver cancer in mid-January. Broderick talks about how there are only 14 cancers covered for firefighters.

Broderick explains some of the dangerous statistics of being a firefighter.
