Sioux Rapids, IA (KICD)– Representative Megan Jones of Sioux Rapids has announced her intentions to run for another two year term in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Since first taking office, Jones says she has been able to be a part of a number of high impact pieces of legislation, but there is one that continues to stick out in her mind.

As far the current goes, Jones says “Funnel Week”, as it is known, has just passed which starts the process of narrowing down the number of bills eligible for debate to the entire legislature.

Among the many things that Representative Jones continues to work on in Des Moines is a bill that aims to reduce the truancy rate for schools across Iowa.

Jones was originally elected to House District 2 in 2012 but that changed to District 6 last year after updated population numbers led to redistricting.
