Des Moines, IA (KICD)– Milford Municipal Utilities has been awarded some funding to help offset some of the costs associated with building a new water treatment facility.

The entity is receiving half a million dollars from the Wastewater and Drinking Water Treatment Financial Assistance Program for the project that is expected to a cost more than 29 million dollars.

Also receiving money from the eight million in total allocations announced this week are the communities of Algona and Swea City for clean water projects along with Mallard and Titonka for drinking water related work, all of which will be receiving 500 thousand dollars.
