Okoboji, IA (KICD)– Drivers in the Iowa Great Lakes can expect to see one of the first sightings of road construction for season early next week.

The Iowa Department of Transportation will be taking Highway 71 down to one lane in each direction around Okoboji’s Stakeout Road on Monday in preparation for the third stage of reconstruction scheduled for this Spring.

Weather permitting, the lane closures are expected to be removed by Monday evening.

The DOT will also be hosting a construction update meeting next Thursday, March 7th, at the Arnolds Park Pavilion which will look more specifically at the plans for the next stage of work that is scheduled to be completed before Memorial Day.
