Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)– Emmetsburg is continuing a long standing tradition of bringing a member of the Irish Parliament to town to help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
This year’s special guest is Cormac Devlin, a member of the lower house for the last four years. Although he has lived in Ireland his entire life, he has a number of connections in the United States.
Devlin sat down with KICD News to talk about his history in politics which began at a young age.
While the physical structures of government in Ireland and the U.S. differ, there are some common issues that are being fought with one being housing.
Cormac Devlin has a wife Jennifer, who is traveling with him, and three kids back at home. They will be featured throughout the celebration weekend including in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday afternoon.
