Jackson, MN (KICD)– We have new details on that arrest last week of a Minnesota man wanted for stealing cars in the area.

As we previously reported, 25 year old Sean VanMeveren was apprehended Wednesday after a chase through Murray and Cottonwood Counties.

Murray County Sheriff Heath Landsman says two of his deputies made positive identification and started to pursue VanMeveren. At one point he ditched the vehicle he was driving and stole another. They say before detaining him near Dovray he had attempted to ram pursuing vehicles five times.

Over the weekend Jackson County Sheriff Sean Haken told KICD News stolen items in VanMeveren’s custody included two pistols that were stolen in Jackson County.

In addition to a string of vehicle thefts in five Minnesota counties, we are now also told that at least one theft occurred on this side of the border in Emmet County.
