Estherville, IA (KICD)– Two people are facing drug charges following separate Emmet County traffic stops earlier this month.
The first stop was initiated on the evening of March 15th west of Armstrong where an Emmet County Deputy recognized 25-year-old Lane Van Erdewyk of Mapleton, Minnesota as a person wanted on a local warrant.
During his arrest, Van Erdewyk was allegedly found to be in possession of illegal substances which led to charges being filed for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, open container of alcohol and several traffic violations.
The second arrest a little over 24 hours later near Wallingford were 35-year-old Jeremy Barnes of Lakefield was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for an equipment violation and was ultimately charged with second offense possession of marijuana and THC along with possession of drug paraphernalia.
