Milford, IA (KICD)– Patrons of the Okoboji Community School District will be asked to pass a bond issue in November.
Superintendent Todd Abrahamson tells KICD News that with increasing enrollment they are out of room at both the elementary and the high school.
New classrooms and a wrestling room would be added at the existing high school and the 1960’s portion of the building would be renovated.
A new 115 thousand square foot elementary building would be constructed at a new site which has not yet been revealed because negotiations are under way.
The 67 million dollar bond issue in the Okoboji School District will be on the general election ballot November 5th. It needs 60 percent approval to pass.
A new middle school in Milford was dedicated in 2020.
