Sac County, IA (KICD) — The Iowa Department of Public Safety says the body of the Wall Lake trucker missing since November was discovered yesterday in a farm field. Special Agent Darrell Simmons says a farmer called the Sac County Sheriff’s department around 2pm. The body was confirmed to be 53 year old David Schultz. Schultz’s semi was found parked in the middle of highway 20 loaded with hogs. His wallet and cell phone were still in the cab and his jacket was found in a ditch.
An intensive search followed including dogs, drones, and infrared detectors. His body was only a mile and a half away from his truck.
An autopsy is being performed by the State Medical Examiner’s office.
