Des Moines, Ia (KICD) – The 2024 Drake Relays were ran last week. The High School events began on Thursday. Here are the results for KICD area competitors.

In the Girls Shot Put, Spirit Lake’s Lauren Travis took 2nd with a throw of 41’2.25”. Hillary Ruschy of Estherville Lincoln Central placed 7th with a distance of 38’8.75”. Fran Travis of Spirit Lake would finish 16th with a toss of 36’10.75”.

For the Girls High Jump, Rachel Schany of Emmetsburg took 11th with a height of 5’3”.

The Boys Discus throw had MMCRU’s Mitchell Schnepf placed 25th with a throw of 142’3”.

In the Boys Long Jump, Isaac Wenthe of Sheldon finished 18th with leap of 20’1.75”.

For the Girls 100m Hurdles, Spirit Lake’s Leah Bolluyt was 8th with a time of 16.54.

The Boys 110m Hurdles had Spirit Lake’s Ethan Stecker finish 7th with a time of 15.07 seconds. His teammate Cooper Winkel was 16th at 15.02 seconds.

In the Girls 100m Dash, Maddie Fehr of West Bend-Mallard placed 27th with time of 13.08 seconds.

For the Boys 100m Dash, Estherville Lincoln Central’s Ryan Leanard was 23rd with a time of 11.54 seconds.

The Spirit Lake team of Stecker, Winkel, Hussey, and Sundall placed 8th in the Boys Distance Medley Relay with a time of 3:37.15.

In the Boys 4x200m Relay, the Spencer team of Robbins, Pitts, Berends, and Carrillo was 14th with a time of 1:30.24. Spirit Lake’s team of Stecker, Winkel, Orpen, and Hussey took 21st with a time of 1:31.81.

For the Girls Discus throw, Spirit Lake’s Fran Travis was 11th with a throw of 124′ 6”.

Rachel Schaney of Emmetsburg was 16th in the Girls Long Jump with a leap of 15’11”.

In the Boys 400m Dash, Qamerin Hussey of Spirit Lake took 14th with a time of 50.31 seconds.

For the Boys 4x110m Shuttle Hurdle Relay, Spencer’s team of Johnson, Hinkeldey, Pitts, and Timmer was 5th with a time of 59.88 seconds.

The Spirit Lake Girls team of Keenan, Bolluyt, Bruinsma, and Leupold was 27th in the Girls 4x100m Relay with a time of 50.33 seconds. The Okoboji team of Avery, Meyer, Wells, and Allen was 33rd with a time of 50.54 seconds. The Spencer team of Hopkins, Vail, Simington, and Krieg took 38th with a time of 50.77 seconds.

In the Boys 4x100m Relay, Spencer’s team of Stanzel, Robbins, Berends, and Carrilo was 29th with a time of 43.46 seconds. The Spirit Lake team of Stecker, Winkel, Orpen, and Hussey took 44th with a time of 43.8 seconds.

For the Boys 4x800m Relay, Okoboji’s team of Osler, Heimdal, Sandven, and Jostand was 11th with a time of 7:59.66.
