Worthington, MN (KICD)– Police in Worthington have released information following an investigation into an incident last week that resulted in an officer shooting at a pair of dogs.

It all started as a report of dogs running loose on April 22nd in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue with body cam video showing the responding officer being charged by to Rottweilers upon arrival which resulted in the officer discharging two rounds from his firearm.The dogs appear to run away after the shots are fired.

Police say this incident is just the latest in a string of ten animal complaints dating back to 2016 including a separate incident from earlier this month in which a young child was reportedly bitten by one of the same dogs. That animal as ordered to be on a routine 10-day quarantine which was still in place at the time of the most recent incident.

Information released does not if any charges have been filed at this time.
