Des Moines, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) – Iowa has announced over $3.25 million in grant awards to support Registered Apprenticeship programs, with several Northwest Iowa organizations securing significant funding for workforce development.

The 2026 Iowa Registered Apprenticeship Development Program (84F), which focuses on high-demand occupations, awarded $24,236 to Spencer Municipal Hospital.
In Cherokee, Modern Heating, Inc. received a $25,000 grant through the same program to bolster local trade training.
Other regional awardees include Prins Plumbing & Heating Inc. in Hartley, which also received $25,000.
Under the Iowa Apprenticeship Act (84E), which supports ongoing training costs,
 Interstates, Inc. in Sioux Center was awarded $39,356.51 to support 57 participating apprentices.
Additionally, Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital Association in Cherokee received $6,904.65 for its program involving 10 apprentices.
These investments, announced during National Apprenticeship Week, aim to create reliable pipelines of highly skilled workers across the region.
