CHEROKEE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — The Cherokee Community School District has named Jeff Siebersma as its next superintendent.
Siebersma currently serves as principal of Indianola High School and brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including nearly 14 years in high school administration. His background includes overseeing building operations, student services, instructional leadership, and large-scale initiatives such as a 100-million-dollar high school construction project.
Siebersma tells KICD he is honored by the opportunity.
As he prepares to take on the new role, Siebersma says he plans to take a listening-first approach.
He says his priorities will focus on consistency, collaboration, and keeping students at the center of every decision.
In a statement, Cherokee Community School District Board President Jodi Thomas says the board is confident in Siebersma’s experience and leadership style and thanked community members who participated in surveys and interviews during the search process.
Siebersma is expected to officially begin his new position on July 1.
