Spencer, IA (KICD) — The Spencer Fire Department responded to an electrical fire late Monday afternoon.

Crews were called a little after 5 pm to 410 East 10th Street where a light haze was found inside. All occupants were able to safely escape before firefighters arrived.

Further investigation found a small fire in the basement electrical panel with damage being contained to that general area.

Spencer Municipal Utilities assisted in disconnecting service to the home with the American Red Cross also helping to rehome the four occupants.
