Decorah, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Iowa Beef Industry Council has named Dixie’s Biergarten in Decorah the winner of the 2026 Best Burger in Iowa contest.
Nick and Jordyn Harless purchased the business from Jordyn’s parents two years ago.

Harless tells KICD News the next step is proper cooking.

The Biergarten Smashburger is only seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic. The number of burgers coming off the grill has doubled since the award. Before you travel to Decorah, keep in mind the kitchen is currently open Wednesdays through Saturdays.
