Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — National EMS Week is May 17 thru May 23, and it was established to recognize the life-saving contributions of paramedics, EMTs and first responders. The Clay County Health Update this week features Chris Meyer, Director of Ambulance Services at Spencer Hospital.
Meyer says it’s more than just transportation, first responders provide the immediate advanced care for patients experiencing everything from chest paint to severe trauma.
Spencer Hospital and the Ambulance Services also have a special t-shirt they will be wearing during National EMS Week.
Hospital officials are encouraging the public to take a moment to thank their local first responders for their round-the-clock commitment to community safety.
You can hear the full conservation with Chris Meyers in the Clay County Health Update.
