Linn Grove, IA (KICD)– An investigation is underway following a weekend plane crash in Buena Vista County.

The National Traffic Safety Board says the Van’s RV-9 aircraft crashed near Linn Grove on Saturday. Preliminary information indicates the airplane was returning from a local personal flight when it impacted a grass terrace while attempting to land at a private airport.

The plane ultimately came a rest upside down in a nearby field.

There has been no official word on the extent of any injuries that resulted from the crash.
