Sheldon, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Non-Life-threatening injuries for a North Carolina man whose semi went into the ditch South of Sheldon on Highway 60 Friday.

49 yar old Aliki Simmons was Northbound when the 2023 Freightliner and refrigerated trailer entered the East ditch and jack-knifed. He was transported to the hospital in Sheldon.
The Iowa State Patrol; Sioux County Sheriff’s Department; Sheldon Ambulance, Emergency Management, Police, and Fire; and Iowa Department of Transportation were on scene.

The mishap occurred around 7:40am and Simmons was charged with failure to maintain control.
