Spencer, IA (KICD) — Memorial Day weekend is quickly approaching and with it comes the unofficial start to summer, and the Iowa Great Lakes area will be attracting people from all over.
State Patrol Trooper Kevin Krull talks about how the increase in traffic can create potential problems during this holiday weekend.
We are doing well on our number of traffic deaths so far this year, but Krull says the goal is of course to stay below 300 deaths a year.
The “S.I.D.E. With Us” campaign, which stands for, seatbelt, impaired driving, distracted driving, and excessive speed, is still in affect this summer by the Iowa State Patrol as they remind drivers about safe driving conditions.
