Emmetsburg IA, (KICD)— On Tuesday night the Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on the site plan review and approval of permit application by Lost Island Wind Energy, LLC. During the hearing a topic that brought a lot of conversation was Emmetsburg’s Municipal Airport.

Airport chairman Gary Koppie spoke with KICD News about how the wind project affects the airport.

Lost Island Development Manager Shane Roache talks about the goal of the wind project in Palo Alto County.

Another topic of conversation was putting it up to a referendum, Attorney Bill Hanigan explains why it must be decided by the supervisors.

Supervisor Craig Merrill says the county hopes to decide by the end of May.
